Your holiday with Continental Villas can be an opportunity to try something new or enjoy your favourite sport under the  warmth of the Algarve sun.

There's an amazing choice of sports available in the area. Continental Villas reception staff can help you to find the activity you are looking for.

The Western Algarve has large areas of open countryside and forest. What better way to explore than on horseback. There are even day rides which will take you across country to visit the unspoilt beauty of the West coast.
For the less experienced rider, tuition can start from basics or develop existing skills with less strenuous rides to the forest or local beaches.

Another way to see the Algarve is from the  air. There are local airfields at Portimao  and Lagos from where sight seeing flights can be arranged. The brave at heart could consider learning to fly a microlight  from the  training school at Lagos.

You don't have to go to Florida to go big game fishing. Book at Continental Villas reception to take a day at sea hunting the monsters of the deep. American style boats will strap you into the chair whilst you reel in shark and marlin.  They say it's an unforgettable experience….and I bet the shark thinks so too.

If squash is your sport you can make sure that its only a tan you take home and not a tummy. Nearby Burgau sports centre has squash courts and is only ten minutes drive from The Ocean Club.

Martial Arts are big sport in the Algarve and there are dojos  in Lagos offering many of the different styles.

It would be strange if fishing was not a popular pass time along such a beautiful coast. The Portuguese love to fish and the Algarve coast  offers the chance of exceptional catches. Boat angling trips can be arranged from Lagos.

There are also large reservoirs inland from the coast which are alive with fish.. Unlike the sea you will need a licence to fish the lakes.

Wherever you go in the Algarve the ocean is never far away and water sports seem so appealing under a warm sky. Most beaches have water sports centres  where there may be dinghies, windsurfers or the chance to try water skiing. The Ocean Club has an associated water sports centre on the beach at Praia da Luz which runs special kids days. A chance to try a bit of everything.
Praia da Luz has a choice of dive schools which offer the chance to qualify as a scuba diver

With Portugal's new found fame we could not fail to mention soccer. Lagos has its own town team  or to catch a big league game take the coach up to Lisbon. Just about any Portuguese will tell you who is playing and how to get there.
